KYRNEA international is a non-profit organisation created in 1989 which aims to promote national and international intercultural exchanges and projects related to performing arts and image. Its administrators and employees are all professionals of cultural and social projects' creation and development.
KYRNEA has supported and broadcasted shows from the "black world" in Europe and in Africa and, from 1998 on, has reoriented its activity towards consulting and expertise.
Since 1991, it sets up and coordinates "un été au ciné / cinéville", now called "Passeurs d'images", a national network that aims at giving access to images to those who don't have it.
Through these activities, KYRNEA acquired competency in the setting up and management of cultural projects related to Africa or cinematographic cultural action. KYRNEA has set up some big events among which:
- European meeting of young people and images in Marseille in 1999
- "Coups de projecteurs à l'hôpital" in 2003, open-air cinema projections in hospitals.

Launched in 1991 by the Centre national de la cinématographie (CNC, French ministry of culture's organisation for cinema) within the action of the government for the improvement of towns' quality of live, the operation "Passeurs d'images" aims at giving access to images to those who don't have it and pursues two goals : one is cultural, by supporting and encouraging cinema, the other is social, by offering animations of quality.
Basing his work on local realities, each regional coordinator has to coordinate partners and actions on his territory. Each region has a proper annual project that has to include five panels:
- open-air convivial and familial film projections for all.
- discounts on tickets' prices in theaters that are part of the operation for young people under 25.
- special projections of films in theatre animated by the director or by a specialised lecturer.
- workshops for young people with professionals which aim at developing techniques, imaginary and creativity related to images.
- training and sensibilisation-sessions for animators and partners of the network to keep it dynamic, federate people and projects and help actions to adapt to each territory.
KYRNEA International coordinates the network at a national level, communicates on the operation (by producing publicity material for the entire national territory, through promotional events and "Projections" magazine), valorises the actions by broadcasting workshop films, negotiating films lists for the projections and contacting directors and actors for special projections.
KYRNEA International successfully organized Yeff! France 2007 with the Yeff! network.
