WERKSTATT FÜR JUNGE FILMER - WORKSHOP FOR YOUNG FILM-MAKERS
The WORKSHOP FOR YOUNG FILM-MAKERS which takes place every year in Wiesbaden is a film and video forum where young makers introduce their works, getting into an intensive exchange. During three and a half days about 130 young people spend days and nights together in a seminar house, actively contributing to many parts of the festival, getting, not least, useful hints from the professionals in the short workshops or at night in the cellar bar. It is well justified that the WORKSHOP enjoys the reputation of one of the most communicative festivals within the scene, being therefore highly regarded by other German festival colleagues.
The WORKSHOP cooperates with institutions within the Rhine-Main region, as well as with action groups throughout Germany and other, comparable festivals, it receives financial support from the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Women and Senior Citizens, from the Film Promotion of Hessen, from the Capital of Wiesbaden, and from a number of smaller partners.

The JUNGE FILMSZENE provides young filmmakers with extensive information on activities and offers of the film and video scene, including online data banks, individual pinboards, online news, round mail service and the newsletter in the BJF magazine.
It is a German network for all people interested in making films and videos.
Berndt Güntzel-Lingner
Diplom-Sozialpädagoge (Diplom degree in Social Education) and media adviser, with 20 years of professional experience in theatre and media work and in the organisation of different kinds of cultural events.
Within the Federal Association of Youth and Film (Bundesverband Jugend und Film e. V.), Frankfurt he is project director of the info network 'Young Film Scene', as well as organizer and head of jury of the WORKSHOP FOR YOUNG FILM-MAKERS. He works, moreover, in the Public Relations Office of the City of Heidelberg where, at present, he is setting up a local internet portal for young people and a network of local youth media centres.
