Catalan Network of Media-Communicators and Educators

It is a non-profit organisation working since 1997 for the promotion and the improvement of Media Literacy among Catalonia and also, together with other associations and platforms, around the rest of Spain.

DESCRIPTION

1. MITJANS is an association of collectives and professionals from all the Catalonia country dedicated to Communication and Education. It is positioned and worried about the present and the future of media and social communication, but it works, basically, to develop Media Literacy for social justice.

2. MITJANS is also open to cooperate with other professionals, non-profit organisations and groups of interests which want to point on Media Literacy as an indispensable tool to get a better educational and communicational frameworks, a competent citizenship in terms of critical understanding and self expression of media contents and a more involved and participative young generation towards the transformation of our societies.

3. MITJANS, from its creation, has become an association with its own voice and a strong social presence, as observatory of those questions related to social communication, innovative education and Media Literacy.
